Hello, I am Gema Galiana Spanish/American documentary, journalism and live performance photographer. Originally Spain, and based in Los Angeles since 2015, I’ve worked as a photographer for over 15 years.
In 2017 I had the honor to be awarded the First Prize Photo Impact 2017 INN Impact Prizes for Nonprofit News Photos and a second prize in the SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA JOURNALISM AWARDS. I made the series under a grant from the Economic Hardship Reporting Project and the it was co-published with Capital & Main and the OC Weekly.
I’ve worked behind the scenes on film, commercial, theater and dance, from Amazon to classical ballet.
I am always wondering around, sometimes upside down.
